A delicious cheesy beef lasagna slice perfect for family dinners.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 9 to 12 sheets lasagna noodles
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Noodles: Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Brown Meat: Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
- Add Sauce and Seasonings: Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Prepare Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Add a layer of noodles. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and meat sauce on top. Finish with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Cool and Serve: Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For richer flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine to the meat sauce.
- To make ahead, assemble the lasagna and refrigerate it, baking it fresh when needed.
- Use a blend of different cheeses for added flavor, such as provolone or asiago.
- Ensure the lasagna cools slightly to hold its shape when sliced.
