Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette or Italian loaf into 1-inch thick slices.
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine softened butter and minced garlic. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until everything is combined.
- Assemble the Bread: Spread a generous amount of garlic butter on each slice of bread. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Add the Cheese: Mix mozzarella and cheddar cheese together in a separate bowl. Sprinkle a generous amount of the cheese mixture over each buttered bread slice.
- Bake the Bread: Drizzle a little olive oil over the top of the cheese for extra crispiness. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly with a golden-brown crust.
- Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the bread slices from the oven. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
- Cheese Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses such as Parmesan or Gouda for a unique flavor.
- Herb Enhancements: Add some dried oregano or thyme for additional herbal notes.
- For Extra Crunch: Broil the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end for extra crispiness.
- Storage Tips: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
