Description

A delicious creamy pasta dish with garlic and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz pasta (such as penne or ziti)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes (for a hint of heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a large pan over medium heat, melt the butter.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
    • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring occasionally, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Combine Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the Parmesan cheese to the cream, stirring continuously until melted and the sauce is smooth.
    • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
    • If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
  4. Mix Pasta and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce.
    • Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Divide the pasta into serving bowls.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
    • Optional: Top with a pinch of red pepper flakes for added flavor.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cooked chicken, shrimp, or mushrooms to the pasta.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best taste and texture.
  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding more or less pasta water.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with milk.
