Description

A delicious creamy garlic shrimp linguine recipe that is quick to prepare and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz linguine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • for serving lemon wedges
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • optional crushed red pepper flakes
  • for garnish chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Boil linguine in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and stir frequently. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and sauce is smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.

  4. Add cooked linguine and shrimp to the sauce, tossing to coat pasta and shrimp evenly with sauce. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the pasta and mix. Garnish with chopped chives and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding pasta water if it becomes too thick.
  • Ensure the shrimp is not overcooked to maintain a tender texture.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce.
