Description
A delicious and creamy pasta dish featuring tender chicken breasts and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 300g fettuccine pasta
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
-
Cook the Pasta:
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
-
Make the Creamy Sauce:
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Combine Ingredients:
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta.
Slice the cooked chicken and place it on top of the pasta in the skillet.
Spoon some sauce over the chicken and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- Ensure the chicken is fully cooked by checking it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- For added flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for better texture and aroma.
- Adjust seasoning to taste after combining all ingredients.
