Description

A delicious salad featuring peas, cheese, and a creamy dressing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen peas, thawed
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, diced
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham, diced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peas: If using fresh peas, briefly blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then drain and cool. If using frozen peas, simply thaw them.
  2. Mix the Dressing: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
  3. Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the peas, diced cheddar cheese, and diced ham. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients.
  4. Toss the Salad: Gently toss all the ingredients until they are evenly coated with the dressing.
  5. Season: Add salt and pepper to taste, mixing it gently into the salad.
  6. Chill: Cover the salad and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a tablespoon of chopped fresh dill or chives.
  • To enhance the creaminess, you can add a tablespoon of Greek yogurt to the dressing.
  • Make sure the peas are not overcooked to maintain their crispness.
  • Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese, such as Monterey Jack or mozzarella, for varied flavors.
