Description

A delicious creamy sausage ravioli dish packed with flavor and cheesy goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package cheese ravioli (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy, based on preference)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers (red and green for color)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ravioli:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Cook the ravioli according to package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is soft and translucent.
    • Add the chopped bell peppers and red pepper flakes, sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Cook the Sausage:
    • Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon.
    • Cook until the sausage is fully browned and cooked through.
  4. Prepare the Creamy Sauce:
    • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream.
    • Simmer for 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
    • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine and Serve:
    • Add the cooked ravioli to the skillet, gently tossing to coat in the sausage and cream sauce.
    • Allow everything to heat through for about 2 minutes.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding the cream.
  • If a thicker sauce is desired, let it simmer for a few extra minutes or whisk in a cornstarch slurry.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like mushrooms or spinach for additional flavor and nutrition.
  • To make it extra cheesy, sprinkle some mozzarella into the sauce and let it melt before serving.
