Description

A creamy and delicious queso dip perfect for parties and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the diced onion and jalapeño. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, stirring constantly.
  5. Season with garlic powder and salt.
  6. Serve the queso dip warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, leave the seeds in the jalapeño.
  • This dip pairs well with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
