- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, blend softened butter and light brown sugar together until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the large egg and vanilla extract into the bowl, mixing until the mixture is smooth and well combined for about 1 minute.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking soda, and kosher salt.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually incorporate the dry ingredient mixture into the butter-sugar blend, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Carefully add the semisweet chocolate chips to the dough, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Chill Dough: Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat Oven: At baking time, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
