Description
A delightful layered dessert combining fresh strawberries and creamy mascarpone.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package (7-8 ounces) ladyfinger cookies
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberry puree or strawberry jam
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Mix well and let them macerate for about 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat together mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Tiramisu: In a rectangular dish, spread a thin layer of the mascarpone mixture. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the strawberry puree or jam, then place a layer of ladyfingers over the mascarpone mixture. Spread half of the remaining mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Add a layer of macerated strawberries. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, the remaining mascarpone mixture, and finish with a final layer of strawberries on top.
- Chilling: Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of strawberry liqueur to the strawberry puree.
- Ensure the mascarpone is at room temperature for easy mixing.
- Adjust the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the sugar in the mascarpone mixture to your preference.
- Garnish with mint leaves or a dusting of powdered sugar before serving for added elegance.
