Description
A delicious and creamy matcha white chocolate latte, perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole milk (or any plant-based milk like oat or almond)
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder (preferably ceremonial grade)
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Heat the Milk: Pour the milk into a small saucepan and warm it over medium heat until it begins to steam. Don’t let it boil—just gentle steam is perfect.
- Prepare the Matcha: While the milk is heating, sift the matcha powder into a small bowl. Add 2–3 tablespoons of hot (but not boiling) water. Using a bamboo whisk (or a regular whisk or frother), whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and slightly frothy.
- Melt the White Chocolate: Lower the heat and add white chocolate to the warm milk. Stir slowly until completely melted. Add in the vanilla extract, pinch of salt, and maple syrup or honey if you prefer a sweeter drink.
- Combine and Blend: Remove the milk from heat. Stir in the whisked matcha until the drink turns a uniform soft green. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Froth and Serve: If desired, froth the entire mixture with a hand frother or blender for extra creaminess. Pour into your favorite mug and serve immediately. Top with a light dusting of matcha or white chocolate shavings for a café-style finish.
Notes
- If using plant-based milk, oat milk gives a creamier texture.
- Adjust sweetness according to personal preference.
