Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 8 taco shells
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices of pepperoni
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large skillet, add olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Assemble the Tacos: Place taco shells in a baking dish, standing up. Spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce on the bottom of each shell. Spoon the seasoned meat mixture into each shell. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
- Spice it Up: Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Cheese Variety: Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or provolone.
- Vegetarian Option: Substitute ground beef with sautéed mushrooms or a meatless crumble.
- Taco Shell Alternatives: Try using soft tortillas if you prefer a different texture.
