Description

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add buttermilk, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake.
  5. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges are set. Flip and cook the other side until done.
  6. Serve warm with cream cheese glaze, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings.
