Description

Enjoy these marinated air fryer beef chips as a delicious snack, perfect for serving with dips like spicy aioli or sriracha.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean cut of beef (top round, sirloin, or flank steak)
  • 1/2 cup non-alcoholic ale
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper, dash of dried thyme, or mustard powder
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Slice the beef as thinly as possible, aiming for paper-thin slices. Partially freeze the beef for 30-45 minutes to make slicing easier. Place the slices in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Whip Up the Marinade: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the non-alcoholic ale, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Marinate the Beef: Pour the marinade over the sliced beef and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4-6 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) while the beef is marinating.
  5. Arrange for Air Frying: Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the beef slices in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
  6. Air Fry to Perfection: Air fry the beef slices for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
  7. Cool and Serve: Once cooked, remove the chips and place them on a wire rack to cool slightly. Repeat with remaining beef slices.
  8. Enjoy: Serve immediately as a snack, optionally with dips like spicy aioli or sriracha.

Notes

  • The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips will be.
  • For best results, marinate overnight.
