Description

Delicious pan-seared salmon fillets seasoned with Cajun spices, served with a creamy avocado lime sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro
  • 12 tablespoons water (as needed for consistency)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the Salmon: Start by patting your salmon fillets dry. This helps them sear better and prevents steaming. In a small bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and sea salt. Rub the mixture evenly onto each salmon fillet.
  2. Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4–5 minutes without moving them—this gives you that gorgeous, crispy skin. Flip and cook the other side for another 3–4 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Make the Avocado Lime Sauce: While the salmon cooks, blend the avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, and a pinch of salt in a blender or food processor. Add water one tablespoon at a time until the sauce reaches your desired creamy consistency.
  4. Serve: Plate each salmon fillet and spoon the avocado lime sauce over the top. Garnish with extra cilantro or lime wedges if you like. Serve with rice, quinoa, or roasted veggies for a full meal.
