Description

A delicious cheesy pasta bake layered with ground beef, bacon, and plenty of cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
  • 1 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook Pasta: Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook Bacon: In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble and set aside.
  4. Cook Ground Beef: In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Prepare Sauce: Add diced tomatoes to the beef mixture. Stir in heavy cream, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, beef sauce, half of the crumbled bacon, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Mix well.
  7. Assemble: Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and the rest of the bacon.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
  • You can add or substitute vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for more variety.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
