Description

Ingredients

  • 12 cups stale white bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 large yellow or white onion, chopped
  • 2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 3 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chicken broth or stock

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt 1/2 cup of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery, sautéing until soft.
  3. Add salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and marjoram. Stir in sage and parsley.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes with the sautéed mixture.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and chicken broth. Pour over the bread mixture and gently mix until combined.
  6. Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish, dot with remaining butter, and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
